Have you ever been affected by your dream to the point that you can't stop thinking about it all day? I certainly have.

Have you ever asked yourself if dreams can influence reality? Or better yet, have you ever had a dream and then have it happen in real life?

That's what happens to Helena. Well, sort of… 

About dreams.

Dreaming is one of the strangest phenomena humans experience on a daily basis and yet we all take it for granted. But what effects do our nightly journeys have on our lives?

Dreams exist to act out impulses suppressed in our everyday lives. The interaction of dreams and reality comes through the power of human belief. By holding an idea we find in a dream to be true, we give that idea power to affect our reality.

And something similar happened to Helena.

But I won’t talk about the plot. I won’t even talk about the characters. You have to go into this story completely blind.

It teaches you that you can’t run away to find yourself.

It teaches you that you can’t control your life, only your reactions to it.

It teaches you that nothing worth finding is easy to find.
It teaches you to embrace the lows so that you can enjoy the highs.
It teaches you that there is no real choice in love. You cannot convince anyone to choose you.

It makes you laugh out loud.
It makes you cry.
It makes you angry.
It makes you hopeful.
It makes you happy.

Gripping.

Beautiful.

Angsty.

Painful.

Heart-wrenching.

Devastating.

Crazy.

Quirky.

Fucked-up.

Inspiring.

About the author.
Is there a word which is superior to the word “genius” in the English language? I looked it up but didn’t find it. Well, Tarryn Fisher is a genius (for lack of another superior term). And I’m not talking just about the story or her writing. I’m talking about her imagination, her quirky humor and her insightful observations. Her book proves it. Enough said.

About me.
Well, I’ll never be the same after this book. This book has changed some of my views about life. It made me pay attention to small details in our everyday lives. It made me notice things, events, behaviors, personality traits and general truths that influence our lives which we usually take for granted.

This book was worth every penny and every second of my time.

I’ve learned that revolution can be inward or outward. A move across the country to gain perspective. A change of heart and mind to gain sanity. But the point is to revolt when the season changes.
